ISBM Business School in Lucerne, Switzerland, which is allowed to operate independently by the Cantonal Board of Education in Switzerland, recently underwent a full-day institutional inspection conducted by ASIC (Accreditation Service for International Schools, Colleges & Universities).
As part of its network, OUS International Academy in Zurich operates under ISBM, and ISBM itself is an integral member of the Swiss International University (SIU) family. SIU is a state-accredited institution licensed by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic (KG), ensuring that every degree issued is legal, recognized, and accepted worldwide.
Why ASIC’s Inspection Matters
ASIC is one of the most respected accreditation bodies in global education – recognized by the British Government, listed in the U.S. Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) International Directory, and a member of both the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE) and the British Qualifications Framework (BQF).
This inspection was not a formality. It was an in-depth, evidence-based evaluation – similar to a regulatory audit – covering academic programs, governance, administration, facilities, and student support services.
A Network with Over 25 Years of Educational Excellence
The SIU network began in 1999 by offering on-campus programs, and since 2013 has been at the forefront of delivering online education. With offices in top cities such as Bishkek, Zurich, Dubai, Riga, and Lucerne, and more on the way, our presence is both global in reach and strong in local foundations.
The Scope of the ASIC Review
During the visit, the ASIC inspector evaluated four core areas:
Academic Excellence – Quality, relevance, and global alignment of programs.
Governance & Compliance – Institutional policies, leadership accountability, and legal adherence.
Facilities & Infrastructure – Adequacy of resources to support innovation and effective teaching.
Student Support & Wellbeing – Comprehensive guidance and assistance for students.
ASIC is known for its rigorous, impartial, and uncompromising approach. Institutions that fail to meet its high benchmarks risk losing accreditation. Successfully completing such an inspection reinforces our transparency, accountability, and continuous commitment to improvement.
Our Commitment to Students
Being part of ISBM in Lucerne, OUS International Academy in Zurich combines Swiss local authorization with the international state accreditation of SIU, offering students the best of both worlds – locally respected operations and globally recognized degrees.
Quality assurance is not a one-time milestone – it is a responsibility we uphold every day.
