SIU Marks Key Expansion Step in Latvia with Official Education Permit

Swiss International University (SIU), proudly part of VBNN Smart Education Group, is pleased to announce a significant milestone in its European expansion strategy through its Riga branch, operating as Amber Academy Riga.

Amber Academy Riga – Swiss Academy in Riga, Latvia – operates through Baltic Sea Amber SIA under an official permit issued by the Riga Education and Information Methodological Centre (RIIMC) for the provision of non-formal education programs (Ref. No. RIMCK-26-66-nd). The institution is currently progressing toward official registration in the State Register of Educational Institutions in Latvia under the State Education Quality Service (IKVD), supervised by the Ministry of Education and Science, in line with national regulatory and quality assurance frameworks.


Strengthening Our Academic Footprint in Latvia

The authorization from RIIMC represents an important step in establishing SIU’s presence in Latvia. It enables the Riga branch to deliver non-formal education programs tailored to professionals, executives, and lifelong learners seeking flexible and internationally oriented education.

Latvia’s position within the European Union and its evolving education ecosystem make Riga an ideal location for SIU’s continued academic and institutional development.

Following this achievement, SIU Riga is actively advancing toward official inclusion in Latvia’s national education system through registration under the State Education Quality Service (IKVD).
